We get a lot of questions about the Harpoon Octoberfest Race. Here is a list of some of the questions we answer the most, hope it helps!
Do you allow walkers?
This is a race, not a run/walk and due to course restrictions, we cannot allow participants to register with the intention of walking the whole course. Runners should plan to keep a 15 minute mile pace or faster. Course will close at 11:50am.
I don't have a credit card. Can I send a check and a paper registration form?
Sorry, but we've gone completely digital and the only way to register is on our website. Registration on day-of, if available, will be $45 and can be paid by check, cash or credit card.
Will there be registration on race day?
If we dont sell out online, Yes, day of registration fee is $45. There will be a day-of-registration form you can download from the website and bring with you.
Can I register a team?
Yes! A team can consist of 4 or more runners. More instructions can be found on the registration page.
Is there a way to make an additional donation to the Friends of Norris Cotton Cancer Center?
You bet! Donate here so that you can help us raise even more money for patient services and cancer research. Heck, if you are feeling really ambitious, ask your friends and family to chip in too!
Is fundraising required to participate in this race?
No, but we certainly encourage it! Fundraisers can create their own fundraising page here.
I registered but now I can’t run, can I get a refund?
Registration for the Harpoon Octoberfest Race is NON-REFUNDABLE. Please know your race fee is going to a great cause!

Can I run with my dog? Are baby strollers/joggers allowed?
The Harpoon Octoberfest Race is USA Track and Field sanctioned so we have to play by their rules. That means you'll have to brave the 3.6 miles solo, no furry friends or little ones.
Do you allow walkers?
No. Due to the heavy traffic on the race course, we cannot keep the course open longer than necessary and we are unable to accommodate walkers. Thank you for respecting our community and the race rules on this.

What should I bring with me on race day?
Please bring a photo ID. All runners must be over 21. After you have checked in and before the race you will need to go to the Wristband/ID Station inside the event space to get a wristband for the post-race party. If you do not have a wristband, you will not be served. Wristband+ticket = Beer.
How do I get my beer tickets on race day?
Your beer tickets and food ticket are attached to your bib #. Tear them off when appropriate but don’t lose them!
Where can I leave my bag during the race?
We will provide a bag corral area. It's a good place to store a small bag with a fresh t-shirt, but don't leave your valuables.
Can my non-running friend/family member hang out at the post-race party with me?
Yes, your supporters can join you at Harpoon Octoberfest!
Does my race fee include admission into Harpoon Octoberfest?
Yes! Your race fee includes two beers and a Kayem Bratwurst at Harpoon Octoberfest on Sunday.
Can I pick up my bib and chip before the race?
Packet pickup opens at 9:00 AM on Race Day: Sunday, 10/9/16.

Is Parking Available?
Parking is available on site at the Harpoon Brewery, Windsor, VT. Note, our site is very busy with other businesses in Artisans Park and you may have to walk/run up to .3 miles from your car to the start/finish line.
When is the rain date?
No rain date. The Harpoon Octoberfest Race is RAIN/SHINE.
